Below is the current status of the education legislation passed this session:

It can take some time after adjournment for Legislative Legal Services to complete the work that needs to be done on legislation before it is ready for transmittal.  It is then sent to the house speaker and senate president for signature.  Legislation is then usually sent to the governor, although sometimes transmittal will be delayed at the governor’s request (as happened for HB 104 – Alaska Performance Scholarship, passed in 2012, so he could sign it at the beginning of the next school year). 

After the governor receives bills, he has 20 working days, excluding Sundays, to review them and make line item vetoes if they are budget bills.  If he does not sign them or veto them within that time, they automatically become law.  I will let you know when legislation is transmitted to the governor. 

Also, so far no education-related hearings are scheduled for the interim.
